The VFW Post 8971 members and the Boy Scouts Troop 425 honored MA1 Pamela Veillon on April 28 on her retirement date by raising and flying her personal United States flag and Louisiana flag. Veillons’ wishes were to have flags flown in Eunice on her retirement date. Veillon served 29 years in the Navy. The Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club members met for their April meeting and “showed-off” their Spring hats. They also welcomed a guest speaker, Gerald Roberts, a Lafayette LSU AgCenter Parish agent. He spoke about Louisiana Super Plants along with giving tips on planting and maintaining gardens in our home landscapes. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8971 and Ladies Auxiliary each year host and sponsor an Americanism essay contest for Eunice students.
Students from all Eunice elementary, junior high and high schools enter and participate in the contest.
