Members of the St. Landry Economic Industrial Development District (SLEIDD) presented ECTEC Facilitator Kristine Joubert with gift certificates to Evangeline Downs Cajun Buffet in appreciation of teachers’ hard work during Teacher Appreciation Week.

This week’s Student of the Week is Jesslyn Reed, a sixth-grader at Central Middle School. Her parents are Brandon and Kimberley Freeman.

Eunice High seniors Cierra Cormier and Chelsea Aucoin recently held a clothing drive as their Senior Community Project. The seniors collected clothing items and donated the collection to The Welcome House & Shelter.

Landyn Brown was celebrated as a hero at the VFW Hall in Eunice on Monday evening. Brown was honored by the VFW Post 8971 members and the Ladies Auxiliary Post 8971 for his bravery in saving his family from an Easter morning house fire.
