Convicted felon arrested on weapons and drug charges

Monday wasn’t a good day for Damian Monday.
Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole agents went to 121 Julia Street to perform a house check on a former offender.
While at the residence, agents allegedly located marijuana in plain view. Damian Monday, 26, of Eunice, was then detained and the Eunice Police Department was notified.
Agents and narcotics officers then searched the residence and allegedly recovered a loaded handgun, $1,500 cash, eight bags of marijuana, a scale, and packaging supplies. Three juveniles were also present at the residence.
Monday was arrested and charged with three counts of illegal use of CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, possession with intent to distribute Schedule 1 marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the uniform CDS law, transactions involving proceeds from drugs, possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Eunice Police officials said that since 2006, Monday has been arrested six times on drugs and weapons charges. He’s being held without bond at this time.
In a 2009 case, he was accused of breaking both arms of the three-year-old son of a woman he was involved with at the time.
In a later case, he was arrested after allegedly fleeing police and hiding at his parents' home. He and they were arrested on felony drug charges.
