Cooking demonstration planned at Prairie Acadian Culture Center

A series of guest chef demonstrations begins at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jean Lafitte National Park Prairie Acadian Culture Center.
The event was announced by the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission and is being organized by Louisiana Kitchen & Culture magazine.
The first event is to celebrate the 31st Annual World Championship Crawfish Étouffée Cook-off scheduled 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Northwest Community Pavilion.
The first guest chef is Dustie Latiolais, executive chef at Crawfish Town USA.
Latiolais began his culinary career when he was 14 years old in Henderson kitchens. He attended the Louisiana Culinary Institute where he received a degree in Culinary Arts.
Latiolais owns Cochon Cannery.
Following the demonstration, Sheryl Cormier will perform at Rendez-vous des Cajuns at the Liberty Theatre. A Cook-off event is scheduled at 8 p.m. at Ruby’s Restaurant and Courtyard featuring One Trick Pony.
