Eunice Junior High student arrested

A Eunice Junior High student was arrested for simple battery on Monday, according to Eunice Police Department radio logs.
Police responded to a reported battery at 6:55 p.m.–when the school’s principal, Lakeisha Miller, advised that a student “tried to choke” another student, according to radio logs.
Apparently the alleged choking did take place on the school grounds and that the victim– who was reported as an unidentified female student of Eunice Junior High– declined medical treatment after the alleged battery.
Arrest reports indicate that a unidentified juvenile was arrested and charged with simple battery at the Eunice Police Department.
The incident occurred after regular school hours and is believed to have taken place during a featured school event.
Due to the fact that both the victim and the arrested are juveniles, very little information is known about the alleged incident as state law prohibits underage information to be released by governmental institutions such as the school and police department.
