Eunice Manor opens Rehab to Home unit
The Eunice Manor Nursing Home now has a new Rehab to Home unit.
The unit features newly renovated private rooms, furnished with a big screen TV, recliner, and table and chairs to make one feel at home and relaxed and ready for a speedy recovery.
The Rehab to Home unit also has a private dining room, spa shower room and a private patio out in the back yard area.
The full time staff of the Rehab to Home unit include physical therapist Dana Morein Chapman, occupational therapist Lauren Soileau Guillory, and speech therapist Brittany Johnson Vidrine. These professionals are available five days a week to meet all therapy needs.
Nickie Toups, administrator, said, “It’s designed as short term for patients, versus a long term care.”
The design of the Rehab to Home unit is to have patients feel they are at home.
“I think patients will feel at home while our professionals give them the proper rehabitation treatments needed,” Toups said.
The patients at Rehab at Home unit will also be welcomed to join in with Manor residents in their day-to-day activities, such as bingo, entertainment, etc.
“We welcome those that can participate in fun activities while they are here to do so. The benefits of this unit is to have a patient join in, participate, and all the while stay active. It’s a one-stop before returning home,” Toups said.
Toups believes in a motto for all residents and now rehab patients, “Quality versus Quantity.”
Toups and Saundra Frey, R.N., director of nurses, welcome the public to visit and tour the new facility.
