Eunice Red Cross ladies are making an average of 2,000 bandages monthly , according to Mrs. Clint Mornhinveg, chairman of the unit.

Donot Courville, one of the last surviving members of the Louisiana Cavalry, Confederate States of America, died at age 99 at his Basile home.

Joe Johnson of St. Edmund’s is Louisiana High School Flyweight boxing champion, winning a split decision in New Orleans.

Eunice High played Leesville in the last football game of the season, and likely the last game until the World War is over. The Bobcats won 40-0.

The Rev. M.E. Williamson of First Baptist Church is new first vice president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention, in line to be president next year.
