Library branch has new manager

The Eunice Public Library has a new “face” on board. Lettie Marcantel is the new Eunice Branch Manager.
Marcantel, from Elton, officially began her new job on Oct. 24, succeeding Sue Street who resigned.
Marcantel has more than 27 years of librarian experience. She worked at Jeff Davis Parish Library as Children’s Coordinator, served as branch manager at the McBurney Memorial Branch and at the headquarters in Jennings.
Marcantel, who lives in Elton, also worked for 13 years in Allen Parish library systems at the Kinder Branch Library.
Marcantel, originally from Port Arthur, Texas, is a 1969 graduate of Goretti High School, in Lake Arthur. She is a graduate of SouthWest Paralegal College in Lafayette.
Marcantel has been married to Wayne Marcantel for the past 19 years and is the mother of seven, and grandmother of 17.
When not working at her post at the library, she enjoys reading, sewing, working in her yard and flower beds, and enjoying her family.
