National Weather Service warns of stormy weather
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a wet week, starting Friday morning.
Area-wide rain totals of 5 inches is expected over the next seven days, with some locations seeing over 10 inches, according to Roger Erickson, warning coordination meteorologist, National Weather Service, Lake Charles, in an email.
This will result in some flooding of low-lying and urban areas, as well as some rivers, Erickson said.
There is also a slight chance for strong to severe storms Friday morning for the entire region, he said.
The primary threat is large hail and damaging winds, he said.
Temperatures will run near normal for the highs, and above normal for the lows, he said.
