Family Fun Day at Pilgrim Rest Oct. 29
There will be a “Family Fun Day” Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, located at 1154 Academy Road, next to Acadian Baptist Center.
Free admission. There will be music, games and food.

Book sale at Eunice Library Oct. 10-15
Eunice Public Library will have a fall book sale beginning Monday through Oct. 15.
Paper back books are at 25¢, Hard cover books are priced at 50¢ and all children’s books are at 25¢.

OLLI French table upcoming
The OLLI French Table held at LSUE Continuing Education Room 117 at 9 a.m. Friday will hold a discussion on attending flea markets/and/or markets.
*Friday, Oct. 21, there will be No French table.
*Friday, Oct. 28 There will be a discussion on Halloween was celebrated in the past.
The events are free and the public is invited.

Star of Jerusalem Revival set Oct. 14
The Star of Jerusalem will have a Revival Friday and Saturday evenings, Oct. 14 and Oct. 15.
The Friday evening at 6 p.m. will be held at Southeast Center in Eunice and the Saturday evening will be held at the Star of Jerusalem at 534 Aymond St. in Eunice.
The public is invited to hear a word from Dr. Kador and Mother Kador.

The Greater Golden Light Baptist Church in Basile will host its first annual Women’s Conference Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Greater Golden Light Baptist Church and Pastor Gregory Fontenot will host a Deacon’s annual set for the fifth Sunday of the month beginning at 9 a.m. All deacons are invited.

Wanted for committing the crime of being a dedicated supporter of Eunice Community Health Center “Jail And Bail” Thursday, Nov. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ruby’s Courtyard.

Rice Festival fiddle contest
The 80th International Rice Festival is seeking entrants for the annual Fiddle Contest.
The contest will take place at 8 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Cramer Equipment and Supply Sound Stage.
There are two divisions: Youth for ages 0-13 and adult for ages over 14. All contestants will be required to play a Cajun Waltz and a Two-Step.
Prizes will include $125 for first place, $75 for second place and $25 for third place
Applications may be obtained at the Rice Festival office located at 112 Hutchinson Ave. in Crowley or by downloading the application form at www.ricefestival.com
Contestants must be present by 7:30 a.m. Anyone arriving late will not be allowed to compete.

Eunice Manor plans Halloween Bash
The residents and staff of Eunice Manor invite the public to its first Halloween Bash from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Treats will be available including hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookies.

Community Garden open hour suspended
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

Changes in Farmers Market schedule
The Eunice Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays until the last Saturday before Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
A variety of home-made items and fresh produce will be available.

CDA 208 public Prayer Rally Oct. 15
Court Eunice 208 Catholic Daughters of the Americas will have an annual Public Prayer Rally for our country.
America needs Fatima prayer service will take place on Oct. 15 in the prayer garden of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 310 W. Vine Street.
This event will be held regardless of weather. The public is invited and asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. the A Rosary will begin at 12 noon, on this day, in every United states time zone, to honor Our Blessed Mother and ask for her protection and intercessory prayers for America.
For those who cannot physically join the event are asked to pray during this time. At noon, A Rosary will be simultaneously prayed at Sweetridge Apartments at 1500 West Maple Avenue in front of their office.

K of C Council 1745 BBQ sale set Oct. 16
The Knights of Columbus will have a Barbecue Pork Steak dinner fundraiser on Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Pickup is at the K.C. Hall.
Tickets are $9 per plate and are made available from any Knights of Columbus member and also at Bertrand’s Printing & Office Supply at 115 S. Second St.

Male Chorus Musical scheduled Oct. 15
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice will have its 15th year annual Male Chorus Musical on Oct. 15 beginning at 6 p.m., and on Oct. 16 during 8:30 a.m. service the church will have annual Men’s Day Service with Pastor Caleb Semien of Word Ministries as a guest speaker.
The public is invited.
