Pastors share Easter Message

By Claudette Olivier Staff Reporter

Many will be celebrating the Easter holiday today by attending church services.
Tim Moffett, pastor at First Baptist Church in Eunice, said he will speak about the historical resurrection of Christ and how that impacts people’s daily lives when he preaches today.
“This is one of the most exciting and energizing messages of the season — the resurrection and how the darkest times in our life are conquered on a regular basis.
The Resurrection shows us two things we deal with in life — the broken places in our lives and our limitations in life. Both can be conquered in Christ.”
The Rev. Clinton Sensat at St. Thomas More said the Easter holiday is all about Jesus.
“It’s not some vague hope or renewal,” Sensat said. “It’s about Jesus Christ himself, literally rising from the dead and promising a new life to those who follow him — a life of great joy and great beauty, a life of great nobility, a truly new life that it is about him as Lord and him giving us that.”
The Rev. Woody Gunnels with New Hope Fellowship said he would be preaching about the “right side of the Resurrection,” and he cited Peter Chapter 1, verse 3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
“Before the resurrection we were without Christ and therefore without hope,” Gunnels said. “Now that Christ is risen from the dead we have hope of eternal life. We have hope of an incorruptible inheritance that will not fade away. We have hope of the glorious appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ on earth to establish His kingdom.
“This hope is the anchor of our souls and it does not disappoint.”
