Suspect sought in Mamou homocide

Considered armed, dangerous

 Police are seeking a suspect in the shooting death of a Mamou man.
Ezequiel Soto, 31, died Sunday. He was shot Saturday afternoon.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force are looking for Javier Chavez Gonzalez, 29, as the suspect in the shooting.
Investigatodrs said Gonzalez is known to have exited a vehicle along the Interstate 49 corridor in the area near Carencro, but the direction of travel is unknown. Gonzalez is known to have been in the Lafayette area Sunday.
Gonzalez is 5-foot-6 and approximately 150 pounds. He has dark hair and is of medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, work boots and a red baseball cap.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
