As important as it is for an incoming governor to staff up with the right kind of talent, especially when it comes to their 16 key cabinet positions, it’s always surprising how rarely the topic is publicly discussed on the campaign trail.
In part, that is by design.

Tickets are available for An Evening with Martina McBride to take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at Parc International in Downtown Lafayette.

Hospice of Acadiana will be holding its “Gigantic Garage Sale” presented by The Acadiana Advocate at the Lafayette Event Center for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 with a $5 entry donation before 10 a.m.

Early voting for the Oct. 24 election begins Saturday and continues through Oct. 17.
And, the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 21 election is Oct. 21.

Film buffs and people who enjoy good stories are in for a rare treat at the Experience Louisiana Festival scheduled Oct. 17 and 18 on the LSUE campus.
