The St. Landry Parish Council, at a Special Meeting on September 25, 2014, called by Parish President Bill Fontenot, voted unanimously to adopt a resolution giving notice of intention to create the Harry Guilbeau I-49 Economic Development District.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA 13 north of LA 365 in Acadia Parish. The crash took the life of 36-year-old Eric Bischoff of Eunice.
The public is invited to a political forum tonight, Sept. 25, at LSU Eunice.
The forum is the first of the campaign season leading to the Nov. 4 primary election.
