An LSU Eunice student riding her bicycle to school was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday morning of Fournerat Road south of the campus.
She was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital.

A Friday night performance of “Cajun Face”, a multi-media production about young Cajuns in Acadiana, will be held at the Liberty Theater on Oct. 3 from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
Tickets are $5, general admission seating, and doors and ticket window open at 5:30 p.m.

The Fire & Police Civil Service Board restored Deputy Chief Varden Guillory’s duties and pay levels after a lengthy hearing Wednesday night, but told him Chief Ronald Dies could assign Guillory any vehicle he chooses, as long as it is road-worthy.

The contractor for installation of the cross drain replacement on La. 13 at Maple Avenue has been placed in default and DOTD is working on what to do next.
