St. Landry Parish’s assessed property value rose about 9 percent from 2012 to a new assessment this year, according to numbers from Rhyn Duplechain, parish assessor.
Total taxable values in the parish are about $625 million, up from about $573 million in 2012.
Sales tax revenues in Eunice and St. Landry Parish fell in July compared to a year ago and were down for the year compared to same period in 2015.
Effective immediately, the following road closures and high water notifications are in place due to heavy rains, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. The roads will be reopened as soon as conditions improve.

All St. Landry Parish public schools will be closed Monday, states a notice the St. Landry Parish School Board website.
The notice stated administrators, custodians, and central office maintenance staff should report to work if roads are accessible.
