Eunice aldermen set the city’s millage rate at 6.59 for general alimony and 4.87 for street maintenance at a board meeting Tuesday at the Municipal Complex.
Louisiana State University Eunice announced the dates for advanced standing examination in French, Spanish and mathematics for high school seniors.
The advanced standing exam for mathematics will be held Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. for Math 1015 and Math 1021 or Math 1023 and 2 p.m. for Math 1022. Both exams will be given in Room 201 of the Science Building on the LSU Eunice campus.

The Opelousas-Eunice Public Library ended 2015 with a $39,268 deficit, according to an audit released Monday by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor.
The audit prompted Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot to restate his desire that Eunice operate its library separately from Opelousas.

Mercy Regional Medical Center and Acadian Medical Center, which includes campuses in Eunice and Ville Platte, earned a four-star rating on Medicare’s Hospital Compare website.
The site ranks hospitals from one to five stars with five stars being the highest.
The offices for Ville Platte’s public utilities and public works will be moving in the future, Mayor Jennifer Vidrine announced at the regular monthly City Council meeting Tuesday evening.
