Mom's boyfriend booked in baby death case

A 24-year-old Sulphur man is accused of throwing a 13-month-old child against a wall, resulting in the toddler’s death.

Tthe child was taken to a hospital Saturday morning and died Monday morning.

Calcasieur Sheriff Tony Mancuso said Trent Dubroc, the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, was arrested Saturday for failing to appear in court Sept. 20 on video voyeurism charges.

Dubroc was booked with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, though charges may be upgraded following the child’s death.

His bond was set at $1.5 million.
