Search continues for vet's killer

Jefferson Parish authorities continue their search for the gunman who killed an Iraq war vet as he dropped his children off at their grandmother’s house on New Year’s night.
U.S. Army Sgt. Joseph Anderson, a 12-year soldier and veteran of three Iraq tours of duty, was shot in a Ray Street driveway and the 4-Runner he was driving stolen.
The vehicle, which belonged to Anderson’s mother, was found the next morning about two miles away.
According to NOLA.com, Anderson, 31, had dropped off the kids, ages 7, 11 and 12, about 10 p.m. before ending holiday leave and catching a flight back to Maryland, where he worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
