Teen dies when vehicle hits tree, burns

A Converse teenager died when Saturday night when his vehicle left the road, hit a tree and burned.
Cody James Meaux, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene when State Police troopers arrived around 9:15 p.m.
Meaux was driving east on La. Highway 174 when the accident happened.
It’s not known if Meaux was wearing a seat belt.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
