Toepfer, Smith exchange vows during afternoon ceremony
The First Baptist Church in Eunice served as the setting for the afternoon ceremony uniting Sara Marie Toepfer and Michael Lee Smith in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dwayne Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Darrel and Jennifer Toepfer of Eunice; and the groom is the son of Dwayne and Pat Smith of Basile.
Vocalists during the ceremony were David and Arien Harper accompanied by organist Connie Beaugh.
Ushering wedding guests were Adam Toepfer, John Toepfer, both of New Iberia; and Luke Toepfer of Eunice, all brothers of the bride.
The bride, given away by her father, was stunning in an ivory strapless two-tiered, sweetheart gown.
The empire style gown featured beaded appliques at the cappuccino waist-line band. The backing of the gown was accented with satin button closures that trailed to the cathedrial-length train.
The bride wore a double-finger-tip tulle veil acccented with a head-band of pearls and rhinestones. She carried a hand-held bouquet of pink peonies, white bridal roses and hydrangeas.
Serving as maid of honor was Meghan Dove of Slidell, college roommate friend of the bride.
Bridal attendants included Maranda Fruge of Eunice, friend of the bride; Kameron Taylor of Lake Charles, cousin of the bride; Jade Perkins of DeRidder, and Haley Gorham of Eunice, friends of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore Rose Ninfa laced overlay dresses with an illusion boat neckline. The dresses featured a keyhole back and a natural A-line, knee-length skirting. They carried hand-held bouquets of white hydrangeas and pink peonies.
Serving as flower girl was Madeline Edwards, daughter of Dr. Rick and Kimberly Edwards of Jennings.
Ring bearer was Richard Edwards, son of Dr. Rick and Kimberly Edwards of Jennings.
Serving as best man was Billy Smith of Basile, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen included Steven Maxwell of Grant, Matt Pruit of Basile, both friends; Alex Newell of Elton, cousin; and Dillon Weldon of Grant, friend of the groom.
The groom wore a two-button black diamond satin trim lapel tuxedo with matching ivory shirt, striped Windsor tie, and Herringbone ivory full-back vest. The groomsmen wore one-button black lapel tuxedoes with matching ivory shirt, Meadow green striped Windsor ties and a full-back vest.
A reception immediately followed the ceremony inside the church’s fellowship hall.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Panama City, Florida and have made their home in Pineville.
Both bride and groom attended Louisiana College.
