She lights boyfriend's clothes on fire; bedroom blaze breaks through roof
A Bayou Vista woman was charged with simple arson Thursday after she set her boyfriend’s clothes on fire in her home. A dog died in the fire.
Robyn Blanc, 29, did not make any admissions as to the motive for the fire, officers said.
The fire was reported to 911 at 10:01 a.m.
Bayou Vista firefighter Josh Ashley said the call was dispatched as a girlfriend who lit her unnamed boyfriend’s clothes on fire. The origin of the fire was in the bedroom, and no accelerant is believed to have been used, he said.
There were no injuries, but a dog was killed in the blaze, he added. Ashley said Blanc wasn’t home when officers arrived.
The fire, which broke through the house's roof, caused significant damage.
A joint investigation is continuing into the fire by the Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department, State Fire Marshal’s office and St. Mary Sheriff’s Department.
Blanc remains jailed this afternoon with no bail set.
