Will the U.S. accept being under God?

Letter to the editor

The United States (a small sample of then and now) ... Well my goodness, conditions have certainly changed, shall we say the 1950s compared to now. I believe we were in the era of Dwight D. Eisenhower. Most of the country would never mock religion as they so often do today through mainstream TV and in many other sources. The playing of our national anthem at public events was a time to stand straight and tall and with pride.
The mere mentioning of men marrying men would have gotten you run out of just about any town or community. United, the country had fought and won World Wars I and II. We were powerful enough to resist the takeover of world affairs by the Soviet Union. We were strong and mostly God-fearing country. Even though His word was not fully understood, we still had a deep reverence and respect for God.
But more, and more, people of today are turning away from God. Which in turn has caused Him to slowly erode away our power and humble us. It is written in the Bible that if we would turn away from Him, if we despised His commandments and statues, He warned, “I will breach the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its’ produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.” This is from the Book of Leviticus 26:19-20.
California is probably our most populous state. And it could be having what may be the final drought on America, causing to bring down the U.S. to genuinely humble our people if they continue to despise God and His laws.
Why California first? Because it is from the vile TV and internet, programs and films produced primarily in this state. It’s the number one state in leading the country astray!
These vain, God-rejecting, egotistical people have become the primary opinion makers of our secular world. Mostly because the majority of these people were never taught the truth from the Bible. They are secular in what they portray. Not all, but most of these people are from the younger generation. Most young people as a whole, are very easily influenced. From practically middle school on they are swayed by the media, teachers and professors. They are being taught (anti-God) stupidity!
So many young people have no real understanding of the Word of God. Our so-called (leaders) are setting such satanic examples. And an increasing amount of older people who ought to know better are wanting to stay popular with the kids being led astray. Read Romans 26 and 27 Chapter 1. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
What was the underlying attitude of these pagans? They do not like to retain God in their lives! Sound familiar? I do believe we have come full circle. We are going straight back into the same paganism which the Bible condemned so powerfully some 2000 years ago. You would think we would know better. Yet so many churches have watered-down what is preached and written that the majority has been led to turn away from obedience to God. The power of true religion is no longer understood nor appreciated.
The country is living more and more in harmony with Satan. And it is only going to get worse if attitudes don’t change and change quickly. There are still many good, decent young people who are nothing more than tools of the devil. Computers are fast becoming one of Satan’s favorite tools. Kids should be taught at a young age manners, a work ethic, respect for parents and not allowed to get into a rut of laziness. It’s not all the fault of today’s youth. As stated earlier, liberal teachers and professors, the media, and, yes, in some cases the parents. I have never believed a parent should be a young child’s friend or buddy. It takes away from the authoritative figure image. No, I wasn’t the perfect parent. Not even close!
People, this was once a great nation under God. Under, is this so difficult to understand? Parents, remember, the future of this country will someday be in the hands of the young people of today. Will they know the meaning and practice of good manners, dignity, work ethics, respect, and being humble? But more importantly, will they know and understand the true meaning of understanding and accepting being under God?
Sincerely,
Ted Bordelon
