Banker Jerry Reaux, Jr. dies
Services are Thursday for banker Jerry Reaux, Jr., who died Sunday night at age 53.
He was Chief Operating Officer of MidSouth Bancorp, which he joined effective Feb. 15, 2011.
Reaux was previously vice chairman and CEO of Tri-Parish Bank in Eunice.
He had also been president/CEO of LBA Savings Bank and executive vice president of Bank of Lafayette.
He was widely known for taking LBA’s parent company public in 1996 and later orchestrating a merger with IberiaBank.
Reaux was active in a number of civic organizations in Lafayette was also chairman of the board of The Independent Weekly, LLC, a company that publishes a weekly newspaper and operates a news website.
Survivors include his wife Renee and three children.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at Martin & Castille downtown.
