Banker

GRAND COTEAU – Services for insurance agent and banker William “Willie” Barry will be Friday. He died Oct. 8 at age 90.
He was a veteran of World War II and in the family business, F.S. Barry Insurance, for more than 40 years. He was a member of the board of Bank of Sunset for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife Ada and two children.
Arrangements are by Sibille.

Head Start pioneer

NEW ORLEANS – Services for dietitian and Head Start pioneer Lillyan Jackson will be Friday. She died Oct. 5 at age 88,
She opened and operated six Head Start centers in the New Orleans area and was recipient of numerous awards and accolades.
Survivors include her husband Joseph and four sons.
Arrangements are by Hall Davis & Sons.

Shoe store owner

TIOGA – Services for former shoe store owner and water system president J.W. Crump, Sr. will be Friday. He died Oct. 8 at age 86.
He was manager of Kay’s Shoe Store in Alexandria for 17 years and owned The Shoe Trunk from 1975 until 2011. He was president of Springhill Water Works for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife Tezalee, a daughter and a son.
Arrangements are by Hixson Bros., Alexandria.

Baptist minister

SHREVEPORT – Services for Baptist minister J.R. Hearron will be Thursday. He died Oct. 7 at age 94.
He pastored at churches in Plain Dealing, Benton, Minden, Dixie Inn, Arcadia, Heflin, Rodessa, Natchitoches, Bossier City and Shreveport.
Survivors include two sons.
Arrangements are by Centuries.
