Laura "Tibi" Davis, retired teacher, professor, Head Start director

Laura Marie "Tibi" Thibodeaux Quinealty Kern Davis died Jan. 27 in Kenner.
She celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 4.
She was a native of Branch, the daughter of the late Maurice and Lovenia Cormier Thibodeaux.
She was a former Eunice schools teacher, on the faculty of LSU Eunice and director of the first Head Start programs in St. Landry Parish. She was also an author and pianist.
She is survived by her children Robert Quinealty (wife Loretta), Marlene Kern Hollier (Frank), and Leo Kern (wife Linda). She had 8 grandchildren: Janet Quinealty Tyler, John Robert Quinealty (deceased), Michael Quinealty, Carolyn Quinealty Davies, Lisa Quinealty Voclain, Robert Glenn Quinealty,Jr., Adrienne Kern Locascio, and Kevin Kern. Tibi is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Quirk and Son on Saturday, February 1. Visitation will start at 8am followed by a celebration at 1pm and internment immediately afterward at Mt Calvary Cemetery.
