Lowell Cecil McClelland

Lowell Cecil McClelland died on the morning of Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Eunice. He was 97. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Basile. Interment will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Rev. Oren Conner and Rev Dwayne Smith officiating.
He was a retired farmer as well as a Deacon for the First Baptist Church in Basile. He was a Sunday school teacher for over 60 years.

Survivors include his son, Thomas H. McClelland and wife, Valerie of Eunice; two daughters, Katherine Gayle Starns and husband, William Dale of St. Francisville, and Ivah Frances Sarradet and husband, Thomas of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, Laura Seabaugh, Wayne McDonald, Stephanie Arceneaux, Virginia Ann Conner, Emily Frances Sullins, Leighe Fraces Faz, Thomas Howard McClelland, II, Renee Graff and Taylor Sarradet; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia McClelland, parents, William and Lillian Taylor McClelland, Jr., grandchildren, Leslie Gayle Weaver and Jason Kent McDonald; brothers, D.D. McClelland and James A. McClelland.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, October 25th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 26th from 8:00 am until time of services.
