Mary Jane Dies

CHURCH POINT ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for, Mary Jane Dies, 74, who passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at 4:25 p.m. at the Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Fr. Austin Leger will be officiating for the services.
The family is requested the visitation be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. then 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday all in the Funeral Home Chapel.
A Rosary was prayed at 7:00 in the evening on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. Burial will be in the St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
Our mother was a loving mother and homemaker. Mom enjoyed spending her time cooking and baking. She found much enjoyment spending time with her grandchildren. Mom always put others before herself. She spent many hours praying for others’ needs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mom and Dad are reunited again in heaven, fifty seven years after their union on earth.
Survivors include four daughters: Brenda and husband, Kenneth Blanchard of Pointe Noir, Linda Dies and Donald Matte of Pointe Noir, Jeanette and Ronald LeJeune of Pointe Noir and Pam LeBlanc and Lance White of Opelousas; one son, Burley M. Dies of Pointe Noir; ten grandchildren, Krystle and husband, Eric Richard, Slate, Travis, Logan and Gavin LeJeune, Landon LeBlanc, Austin White, Lanie White, Paisley H. White and Brendon J. Theodore Matte; two great grand-daughters, Kiah and Ava Richard; two brothers, Placide Daigle of Sulphur and Ernest Daigle of Richard.
Mrs. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Milton Dies; one daughter, Wanda Dies, and one son, Kenneth Jude Dies; her parents, Lezem and Louise Daigle, Sr.; one son-in-law, Blake LeBlanc; one brother, Lezem Daigle, Jr. and one infant sister.
