Lelia Richard Thibodeaux died on Friday, January 16, 2015, at the age of 91.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 9:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Eunice. Father Clinton Sensat officiated. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Last Orphan Train survivor
ERATH – Services for Alice Bernard, the last survivor of Louisiana’s Orphan Train movement, will be Jan. 20. She died Jan. 17 at age 98,.
She came to Louisiana from New York City on the Orphan Train in 1919, adopted by a family in Delcambre.
Public defender
NEW IBERIA – Services are Jan. 17 for public defender Bob Tracy. He died Jan. 17 at age 80.
He was a practicing attorney for almost 60 years and a former Orleans assistant district attorney.
Survivors include his wife Marcella and several children.
Missions minister
HAMMOND – Services are Jan. 17 for Southern Baptist missions official the Rev. John Gilbert. He died Jan. 11 at age 92.
Housing director, retired lt. col.
ZACHARY – Services for retired Southern University housing director Theodore Smith, Jr. will be Jan. 16. He died Jan. 12 at age 85.
He was also a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel.
