Former legislator
METAIRIE – Services for former legislator and grocer Elwyn Nicholson will be Oct. 17. He died Sept. 28 at age 90.
He was a four-term state senator from Jefferson Parish and was president of Nicholson and Loup Food Giant.

BATON ROUGE – Services for former legislative secretary and bishop’s secretary Cynthia Duhon will be Oct. 14 in Youngsville She died Oct. 10 at age 73.
Herbie “Donnie” Louviere died on Friday, October 10, 2014 at his home at the age of 42. A Celebration of Life was held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial was in City Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell Gotte officiating.
Mildred Gaspard Fontenot died on Friday, October 10, 2014.
Funeral Service will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014. Deacon David Guillory will officiate.
Bernie Ray Clayton died on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the age of 82.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Brother Alvin Ogea will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxie Methodist Cemetery in Maxie.
