About 100 people held hands in a prayer circle on East Maple Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday for a community walk and prayer. The event is outgrowth of a meeting called in April by Police Chief Randy Fontenot seeking the public’s support to stop violence. (Photos by Harlan Kirgan)
About 100 people paraded on East Maple Avenue to walk through a troubled neighborhood and then form a prayer circle as residents looked on Thursday.
