Another LSU football player arrested, suspended

Another LSU football player, the second in two weeks, has been suspended indefinitely from the team following an alleged misdemeanor.
The team is idle this week.
Reserve red-shirt cornerback Kavahra Holmes was arrested by campus police last week and charged with simple battery in connection with a fight near a campus dining hall.
Coach Les Miles said Thursday that Holmes is suspended.
Holmes joins freshman running back Jeryl Brazil on that list. Brazil was arrested Oct. 25 and charged with simple criminal damage to property and simple battery, his second arrest since the fall semester began.
Regarding the Holmes incident, witnesses told police Holmes, 19, from Breaux Bridge, pushed two victims to the ground after a verbal altercation turned physical at the ‘5’ dining hall near West Campus Apartments on Oct. 22.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at about 3 a.m. and after speaking with the complainant  and witness, found Holmes at his on-campus apartment and arrested him. He was taken to LSU campus police headquarters, questioned, issued a misdemeanor summons and released.
In his latest encounter with the law, Brazil allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck and pushed her down before punching a hole in the wall of her apartment.
Officers were dispatched to West Campus apartments on Oct. 18 at 3:30 a.m. and made contact with the complainant. She said Brazil went to her apartment and was upset because of something that happened earlier. She told p
The complainant said Brazil grabbed her by the neck and pushed her onto a sofa, and then punched a hole in the wall of her apartment before leaving. Witnesses corroborated her version of the incident.
Police said Brazil admitted punching the wall but denied the simple battery.
On Sept. 11, Brazil, of Loranger, was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for disturbing the peace by fighting after a scuffle with another student outside a campus dining hall.
