Four die in head-on Columbia collision

State Police said four people were killed when a car crossed the median of four-lane U.S. 165 and hit another head-on Tuesday.
State Police said a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Allen Atkinson, 23, of Grayson, was traveling north on U.S. 165 when for unknown reasons it crossed the grassy median and struck a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by Bertha Griffin, 55, of Columbia, that was traveling south on U.S. 165.
Atkinson; a passenger in the Hyundai, Seth Shipp, 21, of Columbia; and a passenger in the Toyota, Donald Griffin, 60, were killed.
Bertha Griffin suffered serious injuries and was transported to Citizens Medical Center in Columbia, where she died.
All four were wearing their seat belts.
Investigation continues.
