Two dies in motorcycle crashes

Motorcyclists on opposite ends of the state died in holiday accidents.
State Police said a Baton Rouge man was killed Thursday afternoon when his bike was rear ended and caught fire, trapping him between two vehicles near Thibodaux.

In Thibodaux, Thomas Grems, 54, slowed for congested traffic on LA 308 about 4 p.m., coming to a stop behind a car in front of him. Shortly afterward, a pickup truck struck the motorcycle from behind, pushing it into the car and causing the bike to catch fire. Grems was unable to escape the flames.
The truck was driven by Joseph Elfert, 87, of Labadieville. Investigation continues.
In Bossier, LaByran Dotson, 30, died when his vehicle left Winnfield Road in a curve Wednesday afternoon and struck a culvert.
