U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

Scalia visited camp near Ville Platte

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, second from left, who died Feb. 13 at age 79 while on a hunting trip in West Texas, had recently visited Louisiana. He was the guest of Opelousas attorney Pat Morrow, left, at Morrow’s Ville Platte camp on several occasions and enjoyed hunting ducks and wild hogs. Cecilia natives Paul Hardy and Carroll Angelle, right, were also on hand during Scalia’s recent visit and Angelle prepared a unique crawfish bisque stuffed in lobster shells for the distinguished jurist. Hardy recalled, “I found Justice Scalia to be a very unpretentious, gentle man. His VIP status would not have been recognized had his reputation not preceded him.” (Submitted Photo courtesy of Teche News)
