The VFW Post 8971 members and the Boy Scouts Troop 425 honored MA1 Pamela Veillon on April 28 on her retirement date by raising and flying her personal United States flag and Louisiana flag. Veillons’ wishes were to have flags flown in Eunice on her retirement date. Veillon served 29 years in the Navy. Myra Miller, accent editor at The Eunice News, received a Reporter of the Year award from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8971 as recognition of her news reporting throughout the year for the post’s events, socials, school essays and other events.
