Diocese of Lafayette presents Martin Luther King Jr. awards

The Diocese of Lafayette held its Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Mass and Award Ceremony Celebration,
“Blessed are the Peacemakers,” on Jan. 15 at St. John Cathedral, Lafayette.
Bishop Michael Jarrell was celebrant and presented the awards.

Bishop announces study group for troubled Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte (pdf)

Bishop Michael Jarrell, who served as pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Ville Platte, announced Thursday the formation of a a group to study the troubled high school.
A news release from the diocese stated Jarrell had sent a letter to the Sacred Heart School family.
