Keep Eunice Beautiful asks for help

Letter to the editor

Keep Louisiana Beautiful will again sponsor their statewide Leaders Against Litter Day. We meet at City Hall and receive a T-shirt, grabbers and bags, then go out and clean up for 20 to 30 minutes. Folks then come back and have light refreshments and sign the pledge board.
Last year Keep Eunice Beautiful had more volunteers than any other city in the entire state!
Leaders Against Litter begins with the lieutenant governor leading the morning cleanup held in communities throughout the state. After the cleanup, leaders sign a public pledge declaring they will Speak Up, Pick Up and Stand Up to end littering in Louisiana. Culminating the day, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the Lt. Governor and Volunteer Louisiana host a press conference at the State Capitol to announce the results from the morning’s cleanups and to ask citizens across the state to take action by volunteering in their community.
In 2015, 22 affiliates in 19 communities held events. Over the course of one morning, 625 leaders signed the pledge, and picked up 220 bags of litter. Leaders Against Litter serves as the kick-off event for the Great American Cleanup every March.
Community, business and political leaders all across the state are asked to be involved and ready to fight for a litter-free Louisiana.
If you are interested in joining Keep Eunice Beautiful in this important event, I need your name and address. If you know of a leader in the business, civic, political, educational, church community please send me their name and address. I need these names by late December to pass on to the lieutenant governor ’s office and they will send out invitation letters. The event will probably take place in mid March.
Please help Keep Eunice Beautiful and take a stand for a litter-free community by supporting us in this Leaders Against Litter movement. We need your help!
Thank you,
