A second month of Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for households in 11 parishes that received D-SNAP or supplemental SNAP benefits after the August flooding has been approved by Gov. John Bel Edwards and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Service
Louisianans in parishes affected by August flooding now have until Nov.14 to register for federal disaster assistance.
Effective immediately, all FEMA disaster recovery centers serving Louisiana flood survivors will be closed on Sundays.
In addition, all disaster recovery centers serving Louisiana flood survivors will be closed on Monday in observance of Columbus Day.
The U.S. Small Business Administration is opening a disaster loan outreach center on Thursday in St. Landry Parish to assist Louisiana flood survivors. The center will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, until further notice.
