Eunice master plan advances

The Eunice Board of Aldermen voted to have its legal counsel draw up an ordinance to create a planning commission.
The board also asked for discussions with Steven Moosa, a Eunice accountant who advises the city on its budget, to see if the city can afford to pay for a plan.

La. High Court rejects challenge in Eunice election

The Louisiana Supreme Court announced Friday its denial of an appeal from the state Board of Ethics that challenged Scott Fontenot’s candidacy for mayor.
“I’m relieved,” Fontenot said upon hearing about the court’s decision. “I knew we didn’t do nothing wrong.”

Mayor’s story still unfolding

The story about the mayor’s job in Eunice was still unfolding as the year wound down as the Louisiana Supreme Court considered an appeal of a 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal decision that cleared the way for appointed mayor Scott Fontenot to run for the job.
