State’s High Court to decide on Eunice mayor’s election

Scott Fontenot’s run for mayor faces a final challenge in court, this time with the state’s Supreme Court.
The state Board of Ethics appealed a 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal decision that upheld a district ruling that it is legal for Fontenot to run for mayor.

Eunice streets scheduled for improvement listed

Twenty street projects estimated to cost $894,000 were approved by the Eunice Board of Aldermen.
The projects are funded from a portion of the city’s 2.2 percent sales dedicated to capital outlay projects, Mayor Scott Fontenot said.

Eunice pet boarding ordinance tabled

A proposed ordinance to allow pet boarding in Eunice at facilities other than veterinary clinics was tabled by the Board of Aldermen Tuesday. 
Newly opened Barks Avenue Pet Spa and Boutique owners Andy and Rachael Young, through their attorney, Jay Caswell, proposed the ordinance.
