Community Garden open hour Tuesdays
The Eunice Community Garden has scheduled open hours from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays to allow the community to learn about the opportunity to garden in a community setting.
Street projects approved Tuesday are as follows.
Ward 1
Neva Street from U.S. 190 to Williams Avenue, hardsurfacing, estimated cost $35,500.
Nile Street from Shelia Street to McKenzie Street, patch and overlay, estimated cost $100,500.
The contractor for 20 street improvement projects was approved at Tuesday Board of Aldermen’s meeting.
Karl Aucoin, city engineer, said there were five bids. The low bid was from Elliot Construction, of Grand Coteau, and it was approved by aldermen.
Lawlessness by teen-aged gangs is a growing problem on Eunice streets, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Monday to about 40 people he called to a meeting at the Eunice Municipal Complex.
