Book sale at Eunice Library Oct. 10-15
Eunice Public Library will have a fall book sale through Saturday.
Paper back books are at 25¢, Hard cover books are priced at 50¢ and all children’s books are at 25¢.
We recommend a Yes vote on Proposed Constitutional Amendment #2, which you’ll see on the Nov. 8 ballot. It’s time to get the politics out of our classrooms. Right now, politicians control decisions about our colleges and universities.

The Eunice Board of Aldermen is charging its attorney to investigate whether Charter Communications must maintain a customer service office in Eunice.
A 25-year-old woman said she was chased by a clown around Brownie’s on Maple Avenue.
A Eunice Police officer talked to the woman at Acadian Medical Center where she arrived shakened up by the experience.
Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers responded to two separate fatality crashes in Acadiana. The crashes claimed the lives of 40-year-old Christopher Richard of St. Martinville, and 34-year-old Al Fournier of Lawtell.

Oct. 11
Mitchell Anthony Boenig, 39, 3900 block of Fournerat Road, Eunice. Disturbing the peace by profane language, no license plate and no proof of insurance.
LSU’s live tiger mascot, Mike VI, passed away today, Oct. 11. Mike VI was born on July 23, 2005, and adopted by LSU in 2007. He was 11 years old at the time of his passing.
Today is the last day to register for the Nov. 8 election.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
