L.G. Junior Tezeno III, 33, 1200 block of of Redmond Street, Opelousas. Theft of goods (shoplifting). Released on a summons.
Family Fun Day at Pilgrim Rest Oct. 29
There will be a “Family Fun Day” Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, located at 1154 Academy Road, next to Acadian Baptist Center.
Free admission. There will be music, games and food.

An 11-year-old Rayne girl was killed after being ejected from a vehicle in crash that occurred on La. 98 near La. 1101 in Acadia Parish at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
The victim was identified as Matiya Zachary.
House fire kills Mamou couple
A Mamou couple died in a house fire that occurred after 2 a.m. Sunday.
Fewer and fewer of us have been going to the polls in recent elections, too many of us claiming it’s just downright inconvenient.
September sales tax revenues in Eunice and St. Landy Parish showed some improvement in month-to-month comparisons, according to the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division.
But year-to-date revenues continue to decline.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
