Council selects Fontenot as interim mayor

Scott Fontenot, Ward 4 councilman and mayor pro tem, was named Eunice’s interim mayor during Tuesday’s city council meeting.
Claud “Rusty” Moody resigned as mayor on Oct. 7.
Fontenot is resigning his council position to take over the mayor’s job.

Experience Louisiana Festival is Saturday, Sunday

Almost a year of planning will come to fruition Saturday morning when the Experience Louisiana Festival opens at 10:45 a.m.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
