Agents with Acadia Parish Narcotics report the following recent arrests in a Sept. 21 news release.
Seth Simar, 25, Evangeline, arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond set at $11,000.
Two Eunice men face simple kidnapping and first-degree robbery charges after they hitched a ride with a woman at Champagne’s grocery store Friday.

Robert Hall Jr., 39, 600 block of Farris Street, Eunice. Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, unauthorized use of a movable and theft.

College athletes are to play softball and baseball during the Experience Louisiana Festival, but there will be another thoroughly French ball game occurring at the LSUE campus.
Mike LeBlanc of Lafayette will bring petanque to the festival.

Business and civic leader Wilson J. Moosa is a candidate for the Louisiana House of Representatives. Also in the race are Newton Thibodeaux and Harry Garland.
Six minutes after a bomb threat was reported to Eunice police Thursday Central Middle School was cleared of students, faculty and other workers.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a crude bomb threat was found on a bathroom wall in the school.
A $12.5 million bond to pay for St. Landry Parish public school improvements was approved by the State Bond Commission at its meeting Thursday.
About $4 million of the bond money as been approved by the School Board for improvements at Leonville Elementary.
Acadian Medical Center held health fairs this week at its Eunice and Ville Platte campuses.
“We want people to know what a stint is and what a blockage looks like,” said emergency room director Lisa Johnson. “If you have a heart attack or cardiac event, don’t drive. Call 911.”
