The following are arrests by Eunice police.
Sept. 23
Steven Street, 32, 1100 block of West Vine Street, Eunice. Domestic abuse by strangulation.
Cody Woodruff, 19, 100 block of Allison Loop, Eunice. Criminal trespassing.
Evidently there is not as much Christmas cheer to spread around as last year at the St. Landry Parish School Board.
Full-time employees may receive a $500 Christmas stipend this year, if the School Board follows a recommendation by its financial director, Tressa Miller.
The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, a National Park Service site, is offering two new classes every Saturday.
As leaves start to fall, Eunice Mayor Claud “Rusty” Moody released a news release on the rules governing the disposal of yard waste, leaves, branches and items such as couches and appliances.
Someone will win this golf cart as the grand prize in the St. Thomas More Fall Festival Live Auction. The cart is a Limited Edition Club Car golf cart, valued at $7,000, donated by Angelia Guillory. The live auction begins at 1 p.m. under the church pavilion. Two men were arrested Tuesday for stealing 13 checks from the Bayou Mallet Drainage District of Acadia Parish and then cashing some of them, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot reported.

Dannon David Fontenot, 42, 200 block of Ulysses Street, Eunice. Disturbing the peace.
MAMOU – In an impressive showing, Mamou earned a sweep over Eunice Monday in the season opener for both teams.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
