Eunice police responded to 12 complaints over the past 12 hours, Police Chief Randy Fontenot reported.

Feb. 25
John Aymond Meche, 47, 102 Adam Lane, Duson, arrest warrant for DWI 1st and money warrant for no proof of insurance.
The Eunice Police Department responded to 11 complaints from 5 a.m. Feb. 25 to 5 p.m. Feb. 26. The following are from the department's radio logs provided by Police Chief Randy Fontenot.

LSU Eunice and other college/university campuses will learn Friday what they are expected to contribute to Gov. Bobby Jindal’s budget-balancing plan.
Kirgan: Returns to editor's chair.
Harlan Kirgan is returning to The Eunice News as its editor. He succeeds Jim Butler, who is retiring. The change is effective Sunday, March 1.
Levier: Fugitive captured.
Theobegi Levier, wanted by Eunice police for an alleged attempted murder during a dope deal gone awry, was apprehended Wednesday in Evangeline Parish.
At mid-afternoon, authorities were transporting Levier to the St. Landry Parish Jail for booking.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
