Sister Joel Miller, a Catholic educator since 1970, is taking sabbatical.
A search is under way for the next principal at St. Edmund Catholic High School.
Principal Sister Joel Miller will officially take a sabbatical on June 30, ending three years as principal at the school.
She is the first nun in more than 20 years to head the school.

When it comes to healthcare access, the closer to home the better, and Mercy Regional Medical Center CEO Scott Smith is committed to bringing big-city services to small-town Eunice.
The precise budget form is still to be determined, but LSU System President F. King Alexandria assures students and supporters that the Eunice campus will be open come the Fall.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
