Three Mamou men and three juveniles have been charged in a string of more than 20 home and car burglaries that occurred over the last three months.

Ardoin’s Rice Mill, a mile north of the city on the Mamou highway, was destroyed by fire. Alcide Ardoin places the loss at $52,000. He was in New Orleans at the time.

Eunice police continue their search for the man who held up Family Dollar store Thursday morning, escaping with an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect is describe as black with chin-length dredlocks. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a grey hoodie.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
